Exercising When You Don’t Have Time!
Exercise is vital for our bodies and minds. According to the NHS website, exercise can reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer by 50 %.
But we are all so pressed for time. And we don’t all enjoy gyms. Where does that leave those of us who think PB is best eaten and REPs belong in the theatre? Are we doomed to an unhealthy unfit lifestyle?
There are ways of getting exercise without feeling like you are exercising — with a little creativity. Children are regularly exercising without realising they are doing it. Maybe we should copy some of their behaviour?
Use the tips below as a starting point and add your own as you become fitter and more confident.
1) One Foot in Front of the Other
Walking is accessible to most people. One foot in front of the other. No special equipment or skills needed — it is more of a transport method than a form of exercise.
You could make the dog’s walk 5 minutes longer. You won’t miss the time, but your body (and the dog) will appreciate it.
